Hey y’all,
I know, I know, before you jump me, I realize I have been MIA for a lonnnnng time! Please accept my apology for my absence. Life has surely been life-ing, but I made a promise to myself to be a more active writer/blogger this year. I’m a Millennial, so you know many of us have the mindset of things being perfectly polished and poised before release, but I am challenging myself to get out of that stifling space more. I will still publish well-thought out, researched projects, but I also want to publish more think pieces or quick little notes as the inspiration flows to me. This platform has changed significantly (for the better) since I last posted and I am excited to explore all the new features and explore different ways to engage with this community. So stay tuned (if you want to) for more to come, I promise!
But, in the meantime
I know that many things are heavy in the world right now. On top of our own everyday life successes and/or challenges, the world collectively is making a shift. From the naked eye, the shift appears daunting, scary, and hopeless, but I am challenging myself (and you too), to not become engulfed in that reality. Now, I’m not saying walk around delusional like scary things aren’t happening; I’m saying be aware of your surroundings, but not consumed with what is happening. Executive orders are flying out of the White House by the second, but we simply cannot put that consistent weight of panic and fear on our nervous system. My personal goal is to subscribe to unbiased news that gives the facts; so again, I am aware of current events, but not over consumed with fear mongering from either side. I am still vetting several news sources and once I feel confident in the information they are releasing, I will share my thoughts and resources. This is a pivotal time for the collective. And it is important that we build strong personal and digital communities to stay informed on what is happening domestically and globally and how we can, at our capacity, help one another.
With all that said
I hope you’ll take time today, even if only an hour, to do something nice for yourself; you truly deserve it. Drink plenty of water, rest and reset for the upcoming week, and deal with tomorrow, tomorrow.
Talk again soon.
